TikTok Creator Rewards for AI Short Dramas: Eligibility FAQ (2026)
AI short dramas fit TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program better than most AI video, for one reason: the program only pays on videos at least one minute long, and a vertical drama episode is naturally a minute or more. But the rules are stricter than the “10K followers and you’re in” summaries suggest, and AI content carries its own labeling duty. This FAQ answers the common questions using TikTok’s own published terms and policies, with every source linked. Everything below was checked on October 27, 2026; TikTok changes these rules, so confirm on the linked pages and in the app before you plan around them.

What are the Creator Rewards eligibility requirements?
From TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program Terms (US, last updated July 20, 2026), a creator must:
- be 18 or older (or the age of majority where they live) and a legal resident of a country where the program is available;
- have at least 10,000 authentic followers;
- have at least 100,000 authentic video views in the last 30 days;
- use a personal account. Business and organization accounts, government organizations, politicians and political parties are excluded.
TikTok’s launch announcement (March 18, 2024) states the same thresholds and adds that the account must be in good standing. “Authentic” matters: the terms exclude metrics that are “artificially produced or obtained,” so bought followers or views work against you.
Do videos have to be at least one minute long?
Yes. The terms define eligible videos as at least 1 minute, publicly posted. A 45-second episode earns nothing from the program, however well it does. For AI dramas this is the easiest rule to plan for: write each episode to run 60 to 90 seconds, which is also the length vertical drama apps use. Our 60-second hook formula is built for exactly that length.

Practical rule: Time the exported file, not the script. A 58-second episode looks fine in the editor and earns nothing from the program.
Some creator guides also say a video must reach 1,000 qualified For You views before it starts earning, and that duets, stitches and Photo Mode posts don’t count. We couldn’t find those points in the US terms, so check the Creator Rewards page in the TikTok app for the current per-video rules.
Are AI-generated short dramas eligible?
The terms don’t exclude AI-generated videos. What they do say is that the creator is solely responsible for each eligible video, including its ownership and originality, and TikTok’s announcement names originality as one of four factors in how rewards are calculated: “quality content unique to the creator.” In practice:
- An original story you wrote and produced with AI tools is your content.
- Re-uploading someone else’s drama, or a clip from a paid drama app, is not, and risks both the program and the account.
- Music matters too: the terms let TikTok mute, remove or disqualify videos with unauthorized uses of music.
TikTok is clearly not shutting AI drama out. In March 2026 it started testing a dedicated short-drama feed, and some of its top shows are AI-generated:

For context on how AI is already used to make microdramas commercially, this TODAY report on China’s microdrama studios is a good overview:
Do I have to label AI-generated drama?
For realistic content, yes. TikTok’s Integrity and Authenticity guidelines say: “we require creators to label AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows realistic-looking scenes or people,” and “unlabeled content may be removed, restricted, or labeled by our team.” Most AI dramas show realistic-looking people, so turn on TikTok’s AI-generated content label when you post. Labeling is a disclosure; it doesn’t on its own make a video ineligible.

Practical rule: If a viewer could mistake your AI characters for real people, label the post. It costs nothing and protects the account.
How are Creator Rewards calculated?
TikTok doesn’t publish a fixed rate per view. Its announcement lists four factors:
| Factor | TikTok’s definition | What it means for an AI drama |
|---|---|---|
| Originality | “Quality content unique to the creator” | Your own story, characters and edit |
| Play duration | “Watch time and finish rate” | A hook in the first seconds and a cliffhanger at the end |
| Search value | Content matching popular search terms | Genre words people search: “CEO romance,” “revenge drama” |
| Audience engagement | “Likes, comments and shares” | Endings that make people comment on what happens next |

The terms add that rewards are based on contributions and video popularity, exclude artificial metrics, and may be capped monthly or yearly. Treat any per-1,000-views figure you see online as anecdotal.

When and how am I paid?
Under the US terms, payments are scheduled for the 15th of each month, and you need to reach a minimum of $50 USD to be paid. Amounts under the threshold may expire at TikTok’s discretion. Other countries have their own terms pages.
How do I make an AI short drama that qualifies?
A checklist that maps each rule to a production choice:
- Length: write every episode for 60–90 seconds, never under a minute.
- Originality: start from your own premise. Genre conventions are fine (see the CEO romance and revenge beat sheets); copying someone else’s episodes isn’t.
- Finish rate: hook in the first five seconds, cliffhanger in the last ten.
- Consistency: keep the same cast across episodes, so returning viewers recognize the series.
- Label: switch on TikTok’s AI-generated label for realistic AI content.
- Music: use licensed or original audio.
In DramaSo, that maps to: approve the script (and its length) before spending credits, lock characters so they carry across episodes, set hook strength and twist position at creation, generate the storyboard and shots, and export a vertical episode. You then upload it to TikTok yourself. A 60-second episode costs about 1,074 credits on the Fast tier or 3,254 on the default Standard tier; see the pricing page.
More questions
Is Creator Rewards available in my country?
Only in countries where TikTok offers it; the terms require you to be a legal resident of one. Check eligibility inside the TikTok app, since country lists in third-party articles disagree. For other income routes see short drama monetization.
Can a faceless AI drama channel join Creator Rewards?
The terms don’t require you to appear on camera. A faceless channel has to meet the same follower, view, length and originality rules. See how creators run them in faceless drama channels.
Can I use a business account?
No. The terms exclude business and organization accounts; you need a personal account.
Is Creator Rewards the best way to earn from AI dramas?
It’s one route. Others include episode unlocks on drama apps, brand-funded series, subscriptions to your own catalogue and licensing; the trade-offs are in short drama monetization and AI short drama going global.
Which tool should I use to make the episodes?
Pick by output unit: a series with a stable cast, a single genre episode, or one cinematic shot. Our best AI drama generator 2026 comparison covers eight tools, including which ones post to TikTok for you and which don’t.
